BEIJING, CHINA
Tracy Turner developed the hotel branding, signage and guest room amenities for the Fragrant Hill Hotel (Xian Shan Fan Dian), I.M. Pei’s first major project in mainland China. The hotel is located northwest of Beijing, in a famous park area. Inspiration was taken from local resources and traditional Chinese arts and crafts. This included using cloisonné, silk embroidery, cut-paper motifs, and powdered malachite.
