Blue Back Square

WEST HARTFORD, CT

Working with Street-Works, TTD created a comprehensive environmental graphic design program for a major mixed-use downtown development of retail, residential and offices in the town of West Hartford, Connecticut. The overall theming for the buildings and public spaces was inspired by the historic roots of the town and its notable role in early Connecticut history centering on the life of it’s famous native son, Noah Webster. Some focus was also given to another famous area resident, Mark Twain. An alphabet wall was created to celebrate the town’s many landmarks. In the lobby of one of the office buildings, a series of decorative panels was created to commemorate the inventiveness and achievements of the area in early nineteenth century American industry.
